Make silly sentences that relate to the maths problems you are figuring out. i.e. six dinosaurs and seven spider monkeys went for a swim, one dinosaur and three monkeys got out, how many are left? each child could put an animal name or food name or anything into a hat and your could pick them out at random to create a sentence.
