This could be a quick game in which the students must raise their hands to answer, or answer in turn from one team to the next. The teacher will indicate and object and ask "What unit of measure should I use?" A student will answer with the measuring unit. The teacher then asks, "What will that tell me about this object?" And the student must tell what that answer is. Example: Teacher holds up a can of soup. The student could say inch, ounce, cup, etc. Then they must explain what the unit would tell: inch would tell height, ounce would tell how heavy, cup would tell volume.
