This is a fun exercise in learning about classifying and identifying 3 dimensional objects using the slide and roll properties. For this exercise, you need to make an inclined plane with a board leaning up against a chair or similar. You also need various cubes, cylinders, cones, and spheres. The students could be instructed to bring in 3 shapes each from home or find them around the classroom. Put each shape at the top of the incline and let go. Let the children tell if the shape rolls or slides and why. Make sure to try the cone and cylinder in both directions - they will slide and roll based on which end is up.
