Get statistics of students in the school. Example - how many boys, how many girls, how many total.
Using fractions or percents, determine the numbers for a representative sampling of the whole student body. Explain why you would have to divide each count by the same number to have a correct representation.
You can do the same thing in a classroom, though the outcome will not be as correct due to the small number of students.
