Start each child with a plain piece of paper in either a square or triangle shape. Using either folds or measuring and drawing, have the children create patterns with either smaller squares or triangles to entirely fill the piece of paper. Conversely, you can start with small triangles, squares, parallelagrams, etc. and have the students create quilt block patterns.
