Using various small items (m&ms, paper clips, buttons) have students measure things in the classroom or a set line on a piece of paper you give them.
For example, group A finds out the line is 6 buttons long, group B finds out it is 10 m&ms long.
This can lead into a discussion about imperial and metric measurements and their equivelent amounts.
