Clear up some wall space to make room for a number line that reaches around the room. Start with only a long strip of a bright colored paper. Have the kids cut out large numbers to attach in the appropriate order. Once the whole numbers are up, have them do the same with decimals and fractions, using a different color of paper for each. This would be a good project to start at the beginning of the year and continue throughout.
Now that's a number line!
