When students arrive in the morning, give them each a number to pin to their shirt. Then have them arrange themselves from greatest to least, or however you'd like depending on what you're studying. So for the rest of the day, they would sit in numerical order during class, line up in numerical order, and stay in that order for the rest of the day.
