[b:fe5074ccd9]Analyzes number patterns and states rules for relationships (for example, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12, ...; the rule: +2, +3, +2, +3, ...). [/b:fe5074ccd9] This type of number patterns analyzes lends itself to simple games in which the following the correct pattern yields a win, and the incorrect a loss. For example, the numbers can correspond to rocks across a river drawn on a sheet of paper (or blackboard)...each at varying distances from the other...the person crossing the river is limited to how far he can step...(to follow the pattern say 2 feet to his left, and 3 feet to his right)...the remaining rocks after 12 are numbered 13-24. The student has to find the fastest way for the person to cross without falling into the water.
