Second grade kids will love to go shopping in the classroom for different items the teacher provides (either something like fancy pencils or doodads or special items that they only get to keep for one day). Give the kids the same amount of play money and have them 'buy' the items they wish to have. Make sure the costs are unusual so that they have to add different coins together to make the total.
