Using hands and feet make WONDERFUL sense to young kids. We do this as a fun kindergarten group activity - divided up into teams. Have your kids use their feet to measure distances. You could have them make a simple treasure map with feet distances - two or three directions and then hide a classroom object for the other group to find - like a team of kids that you put out in the hallway with an assistant. Just keep it simple since the idea isn't how hard to make the map but how the two groups of kids are using their feet as a measurement of length to specify the distance they need to travel within the classroom to find their "treasure." Have fun! Maybe draw a skull and crossbones and a treasure chest on the paper before you have the kids put their feet-distances on it.
