Learning Expectations
1st Grade Math
First Grade is the time when students build on the mathematical foundations they learned in Kindergarten. Students will move forward with their knowledge of addition and subtraction, as well as geometry and measurement. Specific skills they need to learn are to recognize basic fractions, as well as to count by ones, twos, and tens.

8. Uses nonstandard, customary, and metric units to measure, compare, and order objects according to their lengths or weights.
